“If what the Cheaters are trying to get across is that their sound is more than a bit of a throwback to the kind of straightforward, hard-edge blues rock made famous by bands such as the Rolling Stones and the Faces — and that it recalls down-home American rock like that of Lynyrd Skynyrd or the Allman Brothers Band — then “whiskey-fueled” and “home-fried” are right on. Whatever you want to call it, it’s very catchy. ”
