Band Biography
The Cheaters are four hard rocking and hard partying musicians hailing from the Baltimore\Annapolis area. Their sound has been described as "Whiskey-fueled, home-fried rock 'n roll" – a combination of classic and southern rock, played with a modern edge.
The lineup features four songwriters, with all band members contributing to the writing process. Kevin, Brett, and Dave met while playing in other bands, and cutting their teeth in the Baltimore local music scene. Along the way, they crossed paths with Jason Morton, while playing a show at Salisbury University. When The Cheaters finally came together to begin playing, the choice for a lead singer was obvious. The result has produced an undeniable chemistry that is obvious at The Cheaters' live shows.
Recently, the band played alongside such national acts as ZZ Top, The Pretenders, The Stray Cats, REO Speedwagon, Lez Zeppelin, The Wailers, and Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. The band has played everywhere from dive bars, to some of the largest clubs in the Mid-Atlantic, and even 15,000 seat arenas. The band has already gained a reputation as a hard working band, by playing over 100 shows a year since their inception. Whatever the venue, The Cheaters' live performance is a non-stop showcase of the band's energy and showmanship that draws the crowd in, and commands their full attention.
The Cheaters have also successfully managed to transfer their live energy onto c.d. "The Cheaters L.P." was recorded in the Spring of 2006 with Frank Marchand at Waterford Digital Studios, and showcases songwriting from all four members of the band. The album was also released to a sell-out crowd at The 8X10 Club in Baltimore, MD. While primarily a rock album, the tracks contain enough hooks to appeal to all listeners.
With a debut album under their belt, tours scheduled for the upcoming year, and another album in the works, The Cheaters are set to make their mark on the music industry.
